Cardinals DE, Calais Campbell Interview

Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman, Calais Campbell is all about giving back to the community. After graduating from the University of Miami in 2007, his red-shirt junior season, he decided to leave for the NFL. He was selected in the 2nd round, 50th overall in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Cardinals. He has been very productive on and off the field. Devin Aromashodu Football Camp

Seven year NFL-veteran wide receiver, Devin Aromashodu gave back last week to his hometown, hosting an event for kids at his alma mater, Miami Springs Senior High School. In attendance were his friends and some of his former teammates, Vikings defensive players, Mistral Raymond, Fred Evans, Chris Cook, and Bears Tim Jennings and Major Wright came out to support. Jaguars Offensive Lineman, Will Rackley Interview

Will Rackley played high school football with current Bills offensive lineman, Cordy Glenn. He decided to continue his collegiate career at Lehigh University. He is one of few players in the school’s history to start every game in the four years. He earned First-Team All-Patriot League honors three times in college. He was selected 76th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2011 NFL Draft. Rackley was part of an offensive line that helped Maurice Jones-Drew lead the NFL in rushing in 2011. Read more »

The University of Miami Pro Day, Interviews Included

Back in the day, the University of Miami students would not take part in the NFL Combine. They would tell scouts to come watch them run drills in their backyard, at their school’s Pro Day. The U had a swagger about them. Today, with Head Coach Al Golden, the University of Miami is continuing to develop and mature football players down in Coral Gables. I attended my first ever Pro Day, and I was excited for the opportunity to talk to future stars in this league.

Offseason Workout with Brian Tyms and Kevin Elliott, Interviews Included

I attended an off-season workout with two current NFL players, and a few players who are working their way up. I spoke with all of them, introduced myself to all of them, but only interviewed a couple of them. I interviewed Buffalo Bills WR, Kevin Elliott who was previously a member of the Jaguars and was a star on their Special Teams unit. We’re Back! Bears Offensive Lineman, Derek Dennis Interview

Derek Dennis didn’t start playing football until he was a junior in high school. He ended up playing in 49 games in his career at Temple University. He earned 36 starts on the offensive line, and was signed by the Miami Dolphins after the NFL Draft. He recently just signed a futures’ contract with the Bears. Dennis talks about what it was like to be shown on the first episode of 2012 Miami Dolphins HBO’s Hard Knocks! Make sure you check it out, enjoy reading the first interview back from a little break. Detroit Lions S, Don Carey Video Interview via Skype

My first ever interview, Don Carey, becomes our first ever Skype interview for Pro Interviews! Make sure you check it out, and go ahead and give our video a view. I also transcribed it, in-case you wanted to read the interview instead of just watch it. Don Carey grew up a Lions fan in Michigan, and in just about five games (including the playoffs) with the Detroit Lions last year, Don Carey racked up twelve tackles, and had one pass deflections. Jaguars S, Antwon Blake Interview

Antwon Blake played college football for the University of Texas-El Paso. He was known for playing the gunner role special teams. He also was one of the top defensive backs to come out of UTEP in years. During his collegiate career, he totaled about 137 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, and also had one interception. He entered the 2012 NFL Draft, but went undrafted, and then, he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. This interview was conducted before the 2012 NFL offseason. Read more »

Packers Long Snapper, Brett Goode Interview

Brett Goode was a long snapper for the Arkansas Razorbacks and after college, he entered the 2007 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He went through a series of cuts with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2007 and 2008, and talks about them. He signed with the Packers in 2008, and has remained with the Green Bay Packers since. He was a member of the winning Super Bowl XLV team. He talks about his specialty position, and so much more. This interview was conducted during the 2011-2012 NFL offseason!

Redskins G, James Lee Interview

James Lee first went to the University of Georgia to play college football, but later transferred to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference to play at South Carolina State. While he was at South Carolina State, he started 31 of 33 games. He entered the 2008 NFL Draft, but went undrafted and then signed with the Cleveland Browns. He was waived before the regular season, but was claimed and signed with the Buccaneers. He was a member of the Buccaneers from 2008-2011, playing eighteen games, with nine starts. He recently signed a contract with the Washington Redskins. This interview was done right after he signed with the Redskins.

CalU of Pennsylvania, NFL Draft Prospect, Seahawks OT, Rishaw Johnson Interview

Rishaw Johnson was a teammate of NY Giants DB, Chad Jones in high school after being forced to move because of Hurricane Katrina. He then went on to play at Ole Miss University. Due to what he calls ‘some big-time mistakes’, he was kicked off the football team in 2010. He then transferred to a DII powerhouse, CalU Pennsylvania. He started all twelve games this past season at Offensive Guard for CalU. He earned DII All-American also. He was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. He entered the 2012 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed a UDFA contract with the Seattle Seahawks. This interview was conducted before the 2012 NFL Draft.

Chasing Destiny by Chris Stewart

Chris Stewart wrote an article about chasing his own destiny. Chris Stewart played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (2006-2010) as an offensive lineman. He was picked up as a UDFA by the New York Jets, but was cut before the preseason ended. He is currently on the Arizona Cardinals’ roster trying to make the 53-man team. CS wrote this article about the unique opportunity that he has received.

Virginia Tech NFL Draft Prospect FS, Eddie Whitley Interview

Eddie Whitley played college football at Virginia Tech University. During his time (2008-2011) at VT, he played in 54 games, and started 28 total. He started his career playing Special Teams, and then moved into the starting free safety role. He totaled 189 tackles, six tackles for loss, four interceptions, twelve pass deflections, and forced three fumbles. He has declared entry for the 2012 NFL Draft, and is projected to either be a seventh round or undrafted free agent. He could become a key Special Teamer. [UPDATE: EW earned a spot in the Dallas Cowboys’ 90-man roster.]

Draft Day by Adam Carriker

Adam Carriker committed to writing one last and final article for us all. With the 2012 NFL Draft coming up, Carriker thought it would be relevant to write an article about the NFL Draft, and his draft day experience. Back in 2007, Adam Carriker was a first round pick for the St. Louis Rams. It’s actually very interesting how he became a member of the St. Louis Rams.
