08/09/13 – Dolphins vs. Jaguars
Often times, the first preseason game, both teams go in “dry” or without a gameplan. This tactic really allows for coaches to find players who can “play football” and see who separates themselves from the entire pact of new members on the team. This is the Dolphins second game this week, and they started game-planning earlier in the week. However, after interviewing Jaguars players, they didn’t organize a game-plan. Before the beginning of the game, the Dolphins had the advantage, and the final score with Miami ahead, 27-3, reflected just that.
Patriots Rookie DB, Duron Harmon Interview
In the 2013 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots used one of their third round picks on former Rutgers defensive back, Duron Harmon. This was a surprise to many analysts and media members. He played four years during his time at Rutgers and was a great and versatile safety for the Scarlet Knights. In our interview, Harmon talks about his pre-draft experiences, such as his Pro Day to his teammates on the Patriots to how his time has been so far with the Patriots organization. Jaguars Offensive Lineman, Will Rackley Interview
Will Rackley played high school football with current Bills offensive lineman, Cordy Glenn. He decided to continue his collegiate career at Lehigh University. He is one of few players in the school’s history to start every game in the four years. He earned First-Team All-Patriot League honors three times in college. He was selected 76th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2011 NFL Draft. Rackley was part of an offensive line that helped Maurice Jones-Drew lead the NFL in rushing in 2011. Read more
Lions DE and Sack Machine, Cliff Avril Interview
Cliff Avril attended Purdue University and played in games all four years. During his senior season at Purdue, he had 40 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 3 pass deflections, and one interception returned for 43 yards and a TD. He entered the 2008 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 3rd round, 92nd overall by the Detroit Lions. Since he’s been in the NFL, he’s tallied 30 sacks, 12 pass deflections, and 14 forced fumbles. He recently received the team’s franchise tag. There are two interviews. One was recently updated.
Eagles G, Evan Mathis Interview
Evan Mathis played college football at the University of Alabama. He earned First-Team All-SEC Honors in 2004 after having a great season. He entered the 2005 NFL Draft and was drafted by the Panthers in the 3rd round. He played for the Panthers from 2005-2007, then Dolphins in 2008, and the Bengals from 2008-2010. He most recently started 15 games for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011.
Jets FS, Eric Smith Interview
Eric Smith was a member of Michigan State Spartans from 2002 through 2005. He then entered the 2006 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 3rd round, 97th overall by the New York Jets. He has been a safety on the Jets since, playing and starting both on special teams and on defense. Eric Smith has totaled over 200 tackles in the NFL, 19 pass deflections, and 1 sack. This interview was conducted before the 2011 NFL season.
Rams WR, Austin Pettis Interview
Austin Pettis was a starter since freshman year at Boise State from 2007 through 2010. He totaled 229 receptions and 2838 yards (which was ranks 2nd all-time in Boise State history). He also accumulated 39 touchdowns. He was selected twice as First-Team All-WAC in 2009 and 2010. He entered the 2011 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 3rd round, 78th overall. During his rookie season with the Rams, he had 27 receptions for 256 yards.
Panthers DL, Terrell McClain Interview
Terrell McClain played college football at the University of South Florida from 2007 through 2010. He was nominated 1st team All-Big East after a stellar senior season. During his time at USF, he totaled 89 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 10 QB hurries, 1 pass breakup, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. He was drafted in the 3rd round by the Panthers of the 2011 NFL Draft. During his rookie season, he totaled 19 tackles and 1 sack. Click here to check out the interview that we did. Falcons DT, Corey Peters Interview
Corey Peters played college football at the University of Kentucky in the Southeastern Conference. While he was there, he totaled 146 tackles and 11 sacks. After his collegiate career, he entered the 2010 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 3rd round by the Atlanta Falcons. Since he came into the NFL, he has totaled 59 tackles, 4 sacks, 4 pass deflections, and 1 interception. He has been one of the most promising young defensive tackles in the NFL. Lions WR, Nate Burleson Interview
Nate Burleson played college football at Nevada. He entered the 2003 NFL Draft and was drafted in the third round by the Minnesota Vikings from 2003-2005. He also played for the Seahawks from 2006-2009 for his career. He is currently a member of the Detroit Lions. In 2010, he totaled 55 receptions, 625 yards, and 6 touchdowns. Former Patriots WR, Cedric Jones Interview
Cedric Jones played college football at Duke University. He entered the 1982 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 3rd round by the New England Patriots. He was a huge role player and possession wide receiver for the Patriots. He played in Super Bowl XX, but lost. Throughout his NFL career, he had 191 receptions, 2703 yards, and 16 touchdowns.
