Dolphins OTAs on 5/29, Interviews Included

I have been to training camps and games before, but I have never before covered an OTA. I had a lot to learn, and learn quickly. The way the Miami Dolphins practice is fast and intense. They have multiple players going head-to-head on different teams battling each other. Even with the speed, it was hard to not notice, that if a coach were teaching a player, he would immediately slow down and tell the player what to do, and how to do. Read more »

Cardinals Punter, Dave Zastudil Interview

In 2012, Arizona Cardinals Punter, Dave Zastudil set a single-season record for most punts inside the 20 yard in NFL history with 46. In our interview, he discusses Larry Fitzgerald, “being the young guy”, Patrick Peterson, growing up and attending Browns games, and much more. Zastudil has been in the NFL since he was drafted in 2002 by the Baltimore Ravens. Former Bills WR, Andre Reed Interview

Andre Reed was a member of the Buffalo Bills from 1985 through 1999. Throughout his time in the NFL, he recorded 951 receptions, 13,198 yards, and 87 touchdowns. He was nominated to the Pro Bowl for seven straight years from 1988-1994. He also made four Super Bowl appearances. He is currently 1 of 15 finalists for the Hall of Fame Class of 2012. This interview was done before the Hall of Fame Class of 2012 voting was done.

Retired Pro Bowl NFL fullback, Lorenzo Neal Interview

Lorenzo Neal played college football at Fresno State University. He entered the 1993 NFL Draft and was selected in the 4th round as a running back by the New Orleans Saints. He got injured in his career, so he made the switch to fullback. He was the lead blocker for great running backs like Corey Dillon, Eddie George, and LaDainian Tomlinson. He made the Pro Bowl four times in his career, and was the lead blocker for 11 straight 1,000 yard running backs. Check out our interview.

Dolphins NT, Paul Soliai Interview

Paul Soliai played college football at the University of Utah. He earned second team all-MWC for his performance in his senior season. He entered the 2007 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 4th round by the Miami Dolphins. He has totaled 97 tackles, 5 pass deflections, 11 STFs, and 2 sacks throughout his career. He received the franchise tag after the 2010 NFL season. This interview was conduced right before the 2010 NFL season ended.

Seahawks All-Pro KR, Leon Washington Interview

Leon Washington played college football for Florida State University. He then entered the 2006 NFL Draft, and was selected in the fourth round, 116th overall by the New York Jets. He played for the Jets for four years primarily as a kick returner, punt returner, and a scatback to share the load with the other running backs on the team. During the 2010 NFL Draft, LW was traded to the Seattle Seahawks. He continued his All-Pro play performance and was their primary kick returner. This interview was conducted as the 2010 NFL season was coming to an end. Read more »

Retired Jaguars TE, George Wrighster Interview

George Wrighster played college football for the University of Oregon. He then entered the 2003 NFL Draft, and was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 4th round, 103rd overall. He was a member of the Jaguars from 2003 through 2008. He was known for occasionally getting open, but also for his above-average blocking skills. This interview was conducted in the 2010 NFL season and this was when he was a member of the UFL, Las Vegas Locomotives. Read more »

Redskins Special Teams and DE, currently Director of Player Development, Phillip Daniels Interview

Phillip Daniels played college football at the University of Georgia. He entered the 1996 NFL Draft, and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round. He played for the Seahawks for four years, and then, for the Chicago Bears for four years. He signed with the Washington Redskins after that though, and was known for his pass rush ability and his special teams play. This interview was conducted as the 2010 NFL season was coming to an end. Vikings DE, Brian Robison Interview

Brian Robison played defensive end for the University of Texas from 2003 through 2006. He established himself a great pass rush threat. BR entered the 2007 NFL Draft, and was selected early in the 4th round by the Minnesota Vikings. He has been a backup to Jared Allen throughout his career, but still brings a great pass rush to the Vikings Defensive Line. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season. Former NFL WR, Samie Parker Interview

Samie Parker played college football for the University of Oregon. He was one of Kellen Clemens’ favorite wide receiver targets, and was known as a tremendous deep threat. He entered the 2004 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 4th round by the Kansas City Chiefs. SP played four seasons with the Chiefs, and then bounced around the NFL with different teams. He also played in the AFL for the Chicago Rush. [UPDATE: In 2010 and 2011, he also played in the United Football League (UFL) for the Las Vegas Locomotives.] Read more »

Dolphins WR, Brian Hartline Interview

Brian Hartline played wide receiver for the Ohio State University for three years. He was very productive throughout his time there. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 4th round by the Miami Dolphins. During his rookie season, he totaled 31 receptions for 506 yards and three touchdowns. 49ers FS, Dashon Goldson Interview

Dashon Goldson played college football for Washington University. He was an all star safety for the Huskies and totaled almost 200 tackles in three years. He entered the 2007 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 4th round by the San Francisco 49ers. After his rookie season, he became a solid starter and has been a very important player in in the 49ers defense both in the run defense and pass defense games. Cardinals FS, Kerry Rhodes Interview

Kerry Rhodes attended the University of Louisville and started in 19 games, but played in 44 games. He finished his career with 218 tackles, 1 sack, 11 interceptions, 19 pass deflections, 3 forced fumbles. He was drafted in the fourth round, 123rd overall by the New York Jets in the 2005 NFL Draft. He posted 326 tackles, 9 sacks, 42 pass deflections, and 15 interceptions with the Jets. The Jets traded him to the Arizona Cardinals for two picks in 2010. This interview was conducted before the 2010 regular season.
