08/09/13 – Dolphins vs. Jaguars
Often times, the first preseason game, both teams go in “dry” or without a gameplan. This tactic really allows for coaches to find players who can “play football” and see who separates themselves from the entire pact of new members on the team. This is the Dolphins second game this week, and they started game-planning earlier in the week. However, after interviewing Jaguars players, they didn’t organize a game-plan. Before the beginning of the game, the Dolphins had the advantage, and the final score with Miami ahead, 27-3, reflected just that.
Devin Aromashodu Football Camp
Seven year NFL-veteran wide receiver, Devin Aromashodu gave back last week to his hometown, hosting an event for kids at his alma mater, Miami Springs Senior High School. In attendance were his friends and some of his former teammates, Vikings defensive players, Mistral Raymond, Fred Evans, Chris Cook, and Bears Tim Jennings and Major Wright came out to support. Dolphins DB, Nolan Carroll Interview
Nolan Carroll played college football at the University of Maryland. He played in 38 games, with six starts during his career. He totaled 61 tackles, and 9 pass breakups and he started only two games during his senior season because of a severe injury that he suffered. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round, 145th overall by the Miami Dolphins. In his two years with the Dolphins, he has totaled 35 tackles, six pass deflections, and two interceptions. He has been a stud as a gunner on Special Teams. This interview was done after the 2011 NFL season.
Free Agent WR, Legedu Naanee Interview
Legedu Naanee played college football at Boise State University, and he had seventy-two receptions and twelve touchdowns throughout his entire collegiate career. He entered the 2007 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round, 172nd overall by the San Diego Chargers. He earned loads of playing time, and finished his time in San Diego with 746 yards and three TDs. In 2011, he signed with the Carolina Panthers and had his best season of his young career with forty-four receptions and 467 yards. He has started twenty games in his NFL career, but has played in 69 games. This interview was conducted as he was a free agent. [UPDATE: He is currently fighting for a roster spot on the Miami Dolphins.]
Colts LB, Cody Glenn Interview
Cody Glenn played college football at the University of Nebraska. He played running back throughout his first three years there, and then switched to linebacker for his senior season. He then entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round by the Washington Redskins. He was cut in the preseason, but the Colts signed him and he remained with the Colts from 2009 to 2011. He played in Super Bowl XLIV mainly on Special Teams. This interview was conducted before he signed with the Baltimore Ravens.
Seahawks practice squad TE, John Nalbone
John Nalbone played college football at Monmouth University in New Jersey. While he was there, he totaled 101 receptions, 1080 yards, and 9 touchdowns. He was an all-NEC selection during his sophomore, junior, and senior year. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 5th round, 161st overall by the Miami Dolphins. He has been a member of the Vikings, Broncos, Eagles, Bengals, and is now with the Seahawks. He signed a futures contract at the end of the 2011 season. This interview was done right after the 2011 season.
Former Bucs OL, Jeb Terry Interview
Jeb Terry played college football at the University of North Carolina and was an All-ACC selection during his senior year. He entered the 2004 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 5th round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played in 30 games throughout his 3-year career with the Buccaneers. He was also a member of the 49ers briefly. He started an iPhone/Android app called Gridiron Grunts. (For more info click here)
Jaguars G, Uche Nwaneri Interview
Uche Nwaneri played college football at Purdue University. He then entered the 2007 NFL Draft and was drafted in the 5th round. He has remained with the Jaguars since 2007. He has started 61 games in his career, and taken part in 73 total games. Nwaneri is considered the best offensive guards in recent Jacksonville Jaguars’ history. Jets DT, Carlton Powell Interview
Carlton Powell played college football for Virginia Tech University. He is one of few players in collegiate history that have a statistic like this: In over 100 run plays directed at him, he had a negative rushing total to running backs. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He has been a member of a few different teams. I met him when he was with the New York Jets last year at training camp. Don’t Be a Blue Ghost by Austen Lane
Austen Lane wrote his fourth and final blog for us here at Pro Interviews. I don’t know how he did it, but it’s even funnier than the last comparison! This time he compiles the “Austen Lane’s List of Weak Links” which includes, but is not limited to Velma from Scooby Doo, the Yellow Starburst, and Pop-Tarts. AL also wrote about his opinion of the Transformers this past weekend. It’s a great closing to Austen Lane’s blogs.
WNBA = Mohawks by Austen Lane
Austen Lane wrote his third blog, and this time, compared the WNBA and Mohawks. I don’t know how he did it, but it’s even funnier than the last comparison! He develops the “Austen Lane’s WNBA Guide for People Who Have Nothing Left to Hold On To!” AL also wrote about his teammate, Larry Hart’s Mohawk. He encourages you to vote in his poll too. I believe this is his best one yet. You will too.
Beards > Blogs by Austen Lane
Austen Lane wrote his second blog, and decided to compare Beards and Blogs. I don’t know how he did it, but it’s hilarious! AL is known for his humor and sarcasm on his twitter. He develops the “Beard” Big Board and the “Without Beards” Big Board. He also reports about D’Anthony Smith. I’m sure you’ll have a great laugh while reading this blog!
Blog NUKE by Austen Lane
Austen Lane wrote his first blog, and called it a Blog NUKE! Lane played collegiately, for the Murray State Riders, and was drafted to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010. He is one of their better run defenders on the defensive line. AL is known for his humor and sarcasm on twitter. He writes his first article with the fans in mind. Jets FB, John Conner Interview
John Conner played college football at the University of Kentucky. He was considered one of the best and most complete fullbacks going into his senior season. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 5th round by the Jets. He was the backup behind Tony Richardson during his rookie season. In 2011, he earned the starting role and is the only fullback on the NY Jets roster. This interview was conducted after the 2010 NFL season.
Jaguars DE, Austen Lane Interview
Austen Lane played college football at Murray State. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is on the Jacksonville Jaguars roster. He got his first sack against the Saints in 2011, but was placed on IR later in the season. He is one of the funniest players on twitter, and he hopes to produce next season.
