Bills S, Bryan Scott Interview
Bryan Scott played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions and he entered the 2003 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 2nd round, 55th overall by the Atlanta Falcons. He was a teammate of Michael Vick back in the day with the Falcons. He went through rough years in his career before finding a home in Buffalo. He has been with the Bills since 2007. Pay It Forward by Akbar Gbaja-Biamila
Akbar Gbaja-Biamila wrote his second article for all of us. Gbaja-Biamila talks about his defensive coordinator, Wade Phillips and his linebacker coach, Greg Manusky’s impact on him and his approach to the game. Akbar Gbaja-Biamila wrote his first article for Pro Interviews. Gbaja-Biamila played collegiately, for the San Diego State Aztecs, and then professionally, for the Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, and the San Diego Chargers. He is brothers with Packers great, Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila. AGB wrote about the preparation of an athlete for life after the NFL. Buccaneers DE, Stylez White Interview
Stylez White played college football at University of Minnesota and after that, he entered the 2002 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 7th round. He played for the Texans, Buccaneers, Falcons, Titans, Saints, Redskins, and Bears early in his carer. He then played in the AFL, and was the Defensive Player of the Year. After that, from 2007 to 2010 he played for the Buccaneers and totaled 137 tackles and 24 sacks. This interview was done in the spring of 2011.
Retired NFL G, Tutan Reyes Interview
Tutan Reyes played on the offensive line at the University of Ole Miss. He entered the 2000 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round by the New Orleans Saints. He played with the Saints from 2000-2002, and then, TR had a brief stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002. Then, Reyes signed with Carolina Panthers and played with them from 2002-2005, and after that he was with the Bills in 2006. He played for the Jaguars from 2007 through 2009, and then had two tryouts left with the Giants and the Texans but they didn’t seem to work out. Retired NFL DE/OLB, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila Interview
Akbar Gbaja-Biamila played defensive end for the San Diego State Aztecs from 1998 through 2002. He entered the 2003 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the Oakland Raiders and played with them in 2003 and 2004. He then signed with the San Diego Chargers in 2005, the Miami Dolphins in 2006, and then back with the Oakland Raiders in 2007. Panthers RB, Tyrell Sutton Interview
Tyrell Sutton played running back for Northwestern University. He earned playing time all four years while he was there. TS entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed a UDFA contract with the Green Bay Packers and during the preseason he played very well, but was still cut by the Green Bay Packers. He then signed with the Carolina Panthers. He returned kicks, ran the ball, and also caught passes out of the backfield. This interview was conducted in the early part of the 2010 NFL season. Great LSU WR, Demetrius Byrd Interview
Demetrius Byrd played wide receiver for Louisiana State University. He first started playing at Pearl River Junior College and was a complete stud. He then played for LSU in 2008 and 2009 totaling over 1000 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns, and had 72 receptions. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but was selected in the 7th round by the San Diego Chargers. When he was drafted, he was in a coma after suffering a serious car accident. He signed with the San Diego Chargers, and was placed on the non-football injury reserve list. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season. Read more
Lions Special Teams Ace, Isaiah Ekejiuba Interview
Isaiah Ekejiuba never played high school football, and only tried college football for the University of Virginia when he was first approached to try out for the team during his sophomore year. He had an immediate impact for the Cavaliers on Special Teams. He entered the 2005 NFL Draft, and signed as a UDFA with the Cardinals, but was cut. He then signed with the Oakland Raiders, and after a few weeks on the practice squad, he was promoted to the active roster. He played on Special Teams and in 2009, he was nominated to become a Pro Bowl alternate. [UPDATE: He was cut by the Raiders in the 2010 NFL offseason. He signed with the Detroit Lions.] Read more
Eagles G, Shawn Andrews Interview
Shawn Andrews was one of the most successful offensive lineman coming out of Camden Fairview High School. He attended the University of Arkansas and at that time was a teammate of fellow Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Lineman, Jason Peters. He decided to leave school early to enter the 2004 NFL Draft, but was drafted in the 1st round, 16th overall. He made the Pro Bowl in 2006 and 2007. SA was released at the end of the 2009 season, but hopes to find a new team. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season.
