Cardinals Rookie DB, Ronnie Yell Interview

Ronnie Yell, Arizona Cardinals defensive back, is fighting for a roster spot this year. He joins a crowded secondary, and a young NFL team looking for breakout players. Ronnie Yell played collegiately at San José State and earned playing time starting games as a true freshman. He totaled over 100 tackles and over 20 pass deflections in his career. He entered the 2013 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He was quickly signed by the Arizona Cardinals and has since attended their rookie camp and is a now on their roster during 2013 Training Camp. Former University of Charleston, Chiefs RB, Jordan Roberts Interview

Running back, Jordan Roberts transferred to University of Charleston after his redshirt freshman season at West Virginia.  Jordan Roberts took on a leadership role immediately at Charleston, and contributed heavily in many different phases of the game. He set school records and NCAA DII records during his time playing football. He rushed for over 3000 yards and over 40 touchdowns during his time at Charleston. He is a sleeper in this 2013 NFL Draft, and may be a small school steal that a team takes a chance on. Read more »

Offseason Workout with Brian Tyms and Kevin Elliott, Interviews Included

I attended an off-season workout with two current NFL players, and a few players who are working their way up. I spoke with all of them, introduced myself to all of them, but only interviewed a couple of them. I interviewed Buffalo Bills WR, Kevin Elliott who was previously a member of the Jaguars and was a star on their Special Teams unit. We’re Back! Bears Offensive Lineman, Derek Dennis Interview

Derek Dennis didn’t start playing football until he was a junior in high school. He ended up playing in 49 games in his career at Temple University. He earned 36 starts on the offensive line, and was signed by the Miami Dolphins after the NFL Draft. He recently just signed a futures’ contract with the Bears. Dennis talks about what it was like to be shown on the first episode of 2012 Miami Dolphins HBO’s Hard Knocks! Make sure you check it out, enjoy reading the first interview back from a little break. Seahawks practice squad TE, John Nalbone

John Nalbone played college football at Monmouth University in New Jersey. While he was there, he totaled 101 receptions, 1080 yards, and 9 touchdowns. He was an all-NEC selection during his sophomore, junior, and senior year. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 5th round, 161st overall by the Miami Dolphins. He has been a member of the Vikings, Broncos, Eagles, Bengals, and is now with the Seahawks. He signed a futures contract at the end of the 2011 season. This interview was done right after the 2011 season.

Free Agent DB, Reggie Jones Interview

Reggie Jones played college football at Idaho and Portland State. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed a free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints. He was placed on IR after getting injured in camp. In 2010, he signed with the Redskins and was on the team for preseason. In 2011, he signed with the Vikings Practice Squad, and recently signed a future/reserve contract. This interview was conducted actually before the 2011 NFL season.

Bills WR, Felton Huggins Interview

Felton Huggins played college football at Southeastern Louisiana. FH entered the 2006 NFL Draft, but actually went undrafted most likely because of the small school that he attended. He was a member of the Buffalo Bills from 2007 through 2009. He has recorded one TD in preseason games. He was placed on injured reserve early in the season. He has yet to make his break in the NFL. Free Agent TE, Joel Gamble Interview

Joel Gamble played for Division II college called Shippensburg University up until the 2004 football season. He entered the 2005 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He wasn’t offered a chance to play for an NFL team until he was given a chance four years later for the Philadelphia Eagles. After he was on the practice squad in 2009, he then was cut during the 2010 Browns season. Afterwards, he signed with the Tennessee Titans practice squad. This interview was done towards the end of the 2011 NFL season.

Dolphins DB, Nate Ness Interview

Nate Ness first played Junior College football at El Camino College where he recorded 19 interceptions and 8 touchdowns. He then, went on to play college football for the University of Arizona during 2007 and 2008. He totaled 97 tackles and 7 interceptions while he was at Arizona. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He has been a member of numerous teams from the Browns to the Seahawks to the Jets and now, he’s on the Miami Dolphins roster. This interview was conducted during the 2011 NFL preseason. Read more »

Jets DT, Carlton Powell Interview

Carlton Powell played college football for Virginia Tech University. He is one of few players in collegiate history that have a statistic like this: In over 100 run plays directed at him, he had a negative rushing total to running backs. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He has been a member of a few different teams. I met him when he was with the New York Jets last year at training camp. Check out the two interviews that we have. Keep in mind, the earlier date was my third ever interview.

49ers Safety, Chris Maragos Interview

Chris Maragos first went to Western Michigan University to play college football, and then transferred to play at what he calls his dream school growing up, the University of Wisconsin. He went undrafted after the 2010 NFL Draft. He signed with the 49ers as a UDFA, and made the team’s practice squad in the 2010. He most recently signed with the Seattle Seahawks after being cut by the 49ers. This interview was conducted before the 2011 NFL season.

Bengals LB, Vincent Rey Interview

Vincent Rey played college football at Duke University. He totaled 330 tackles, 28 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries for TDs during his collegiate career. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the Cincinnati Bengals and in 2011, he became a key player for their Special Teams unit. Redskins S, Sha’Reff Rashad Interview (video)

Sha’Reff Rashad played college football at the University of Central Florida. He totaled 259 tackles, 27 pass deflections, 10.5 tackles, and 14 interceptions throughout his collegiate career. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the Giants and played on their practice squad. In 2010, he played for the Redskins. This is a VIDEO interview! Vikings WR, Freddie Brown Interview

Freddie Brown played wide receiver for the University of Utah. He was very productive during his senior season accumulating 77 receptions, 900 yards, and 7 touchdowns. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was selected 224th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals. He made the Bengals practice squad during his rookie season. Dolphins RB, Kory Sheets Interview

Kory Sheets played college football at Purdue University and was a threat as both a running back and a receiver out of the backfield. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers, but lost his spot on the roster in camp, so he signed on the practice squad. The Miami Dolphins needed another running back, so they signed him from the 49ers practice squad. This interview was done before the 2010 NFL season. Read more »
