Seahawks All-Pro KR, Leon Washington Interview
Leon Washington played college football for Florida State University. He then entered the 2006 NFL Draft, and was selected in the fourth round, 116th overall by the New York Jets. He played for the Jets for four years primarily as a kick returner, punt returner, and a scatback to share the load with the other running backs on the team. During the 2010 NFL Draft, LW was traded to the Seattle Seahawks. He continued his All-Pro play performance and was their primary kick returner. Retired Jaguars TE, George Wrighster Interview
George Wrighster played college football for the University of Oregon. He then entered the 2003 NFL Draft, and was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 4th round, 103rd overall. He was a member of the Jaguars from 2003 through 2008. He was known for occasionally getting open, but also for his above-average blocking skills. Redskins WR, Anthony Armstrong Interview
Anthony Armstrong played college football for West Texas A&M from 2002-2005. He never got a shot to play in the NFL, so he played in the Intense Football League, and the Arena Football League hoping to one day earn a spot in the NFL. In 2008, the Miami Dolphins came calling, and he earned a spot on their practice squad roster. In 2009, he was on it, before getting cut. Then, the Redskins signed him to their active roster. In 2010, he compiled 871 yards, 3 touchdowns, on 44 receptions. This interview was done in the middle of the 2010 NFL season.
Redskins Special Teams and DE, currently Director of Player Development, Phillip Daniels Interview
Phillip Daniels played college football at the University of Georgia. He entered the 1996 NFL Draft, and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round. He played for the Seahawks for four years, and then, for the Chicago Bears for four years. He signed with the Washington Redskins after that though, and was known for his pass rush ability and his special teams play. This interview was conducted as the 2010 NFL season was coming to an end. Chargers DB, Traye Simmons Interview
Traye Simmons first played junior college at the College of the Sequoias. He then transferred to play for the University of Minnesota. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, but actually went undrafted. He signed a undrafted free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers. He didn’t end up making the final roster and was cut right after the Chargers’ preseason. Lions Special Teams Ace, Isaiah Ekejiuba Interview
Isaiah Ekejiuba never played high school football, and only tried college football for the University of Virginia when he was first approached to try out for the team during his sophomore year. He had an immediate impact for the Cavaliers on Special Teams. He entered the 2005 NFL Draft, and signed as a UDFA with the Cardinals, but was cut. He then signed with the Oakland Raiders, and after a few weeks on the practice squad, he was promoted to the active roster. He played on Special Teams and in 2009, he was nominated to become a Pro Bowl alternate. [UPDATE: He was cut by the Raiders in the 2010 NFL offseason. He signed with the Detroit Lions.] Read more
Dolphins WR, Brian Hartline Interview
Brian Hartline played wide receiver for the Ohio State University for three years. He was very productive throughout his time there. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 4th round by the Miami Dolphins. During his rookie season, he totaled 31 receptions for 506 yards and three touchdowns. Dashon Goldson played college football for Washington University. He was an all star safety for the Huskies and totaled almost 200 tackles in three years. He entered the 2007 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 4th round by the San Francisco 49ers. After his rookie season, he became a solid starter and has been a very important player in in the 49ers defense both in the run defense and pass defense games. Browns FS, Abe Elam Interview
Abe Elam grew up in Palm Beach, Florida. AE played collegiately at Kent State University and was used as a punt returner and as a safety. He entered the 2005 NFL Draft, but was undrafted. He then signed with the Miami Dolphins, but was cut. He then signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Afterwards, he became a member of the New York Jets, and then was traded to the Cleveland Browns during the 2009 NFL Draft in the “Mark Sanchez Trade”. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season.
Eagles G, Shawn Andrews Interview
Shawn Andrews was one of the most successful offensive lineman coming out of Camden Fairview High School. He attended the University of Arkansas and at that time was a teammate of fellow Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Lineman, Jason Peters. He decided to leave school early to enter the 2004 NFL Draft, but was drafted in the 1st round, 16th overall. He made the Pro Bowl in 2006 and 2007. SA was released at the end of the 2009 season, but hopes to find a new team. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season.
Cardinals FS, Kerry Rhodes Interview
Kerry Rhodes attended the University of Louisville and started in 19 games, but played in 44 games. He finished his career with 218 tackles, 1 sack, 11 interceptions, 19 pass deflections, 3 forced fumbles. He was drafted in the fourth round, 123rd overall by the New York Jets in the 2005 NFL Draft. He posted 326 tackles, 9 sacks, 42 pass deflections, and 15 interceptions with the Jets. The Jets traded him to the Arizona Cardinals for two picks in 2010. This interview was conducted before the 2010 regular season.
Jaguars FS, Don Carey Interview (First Ever)
Don Carey III attended Norfolk State University and started in games all four years at safety and cornerback playing in 44 games. He was known for having soft hands, intercepting five passes his senior year. He was drafted in the sixth round, 177th overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2009 NFL Draft. He was on the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010 and was their starting safety. He was cut in 2011, but signed with the Detroit Lions. This interview was performed before the 2010 regular season.
