Retired Ravens TE, Daniel Wilcox Interview (#50)

Daniel Wilcox was undrafted after the 2001 NFL Draft, but signed a contract with the New York Jets. In 2002, he became a Super Bowl Champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He remained on their roster in 2003. However, in 2004, he signed a contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He played tight end for the Ravens until the 2008 NFL season. He was known for his red-zone production. DW caught Joe Flacco’s first ever NFL touchdown pass. Check out our interview that was done in 2010, looking back on his career. Read more »

Eagles fullback, Leonard Weaver Interview

Leonard Weaver played collegiately at Carson-Newman. He entered the 2005 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He earned a spot from the Seattle Seahawks and was a member of their team and learned from all-time great fullback, Mack Strong. He was hurt during the 2006 NFL season, but played great in both the 2007 and 2008 seasons. He signed a contract in 2009 making him the highest paid fullback in NFL history. Bills All-Time Great, Hall of Fame RB, Thurman Thomas Interview

Thurman Thomas attended Oklahoma State University, and during his time there he accumulated 897 attempts, 4595 yards, and 43 touchdowns. He is the all time leading rusher in OSU history, and he was known for being the only person ever to put Barry Sanders on the bench. He entered the 1988 NFL Draft, and was selected 40th overall by the Buffalo Bills. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007 after compiling over 12,000 rushing yards, and over 4,000 receiving yards in his career. Check out our interview. Read more »

Pro Bowl, Eagles QB, Mike Vick Interview

Michael Vick played quarterback for Virginia Tech in 1999 and 2000. He entered the 2001 NFL Draft and was selected as the first overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons. He played for them from 2001-2006, and set numerous records, and was arguably one of the greatest dual-threat quarterbacks of all time. After being arrested, MV served 23 months in prison, but is working hard to repair his image. He signed a contract with the Eagles and earned a tiny amount of playing time during his first year back. [UPDATE: He has worked his way back to the starting quarterback position with the Eagles, and is now their starting quarterback.] Read more »

Retired NFL G, Tutan Reyes Interview

Tutan Reyes played on the offensive line at the University of Ole Miss. He entered the 2000 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round by the New Orleans Saints. He played with the Saints from 2000-2002, and then, TR had a brief stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002. Then, Reyes signed with Carolina Panthers and played with them from 2002-2005, and after that he was with the Bills in 2006. He played for the Jaguars from 2007 through 2009, and then had two tryouts left with the Giants and the Texans but they didn’t seem to work out. Retired NFL DE/OLB, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila Interview

Akbar Gbaja-Biamila played defensive end for the San Diego State Aztecs from 1998 through 2002. He entered the 2003 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the Oakland Raiders and played with them in 2003 and 2004. He then signed with the San Diego Chargers in 2005, the Miami Dolphins in 2006, and then back with the Oakland Raiders in 2007. Seahawks LB, Anthony Heygood Interview

Anthony Heygood played as a linebacker and on Special Teams for Purdue University. He had a great senior season with 114 tackles. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but actually went undrafted. He signed a undrafted free agent contract with the Carolina Panthers after the draft. He was waived by the Panthers in the 2009 season, but signed with the Seattle Seahawks and was cut right before camp ended. [UPDATE: He was placed on the Seahawks’ Injured Reserve list during the 2010 NFL season.] Read more »

Panthers RB, Tyrell Sutton Interview

Tyrell Sutton played running back for Northwestern University. He earned playing time all four years while he was there. TS entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed a UDFA contract with the Green Bay Packers and during the preseason he played very well, but was still cut by the Green Bay Packers. He then signed with the Carolina Panthers. He returned kicks, ran the ball, and also caught passes out of the backfield. This interview was conducted in the early part of the 2010 NFL season. Great LSU WR, Demetrius Byrd Interview

Demetrius Byrd played wide receiver for Louisiana State University. He first started playing at Pearl River Junior College and was a complete stud. He then played for LSU in 2008 and 2009 totaling over 1000 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns, and had 72 receptions. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but was selected in the 7th round by the San Diego Chargers. When he was drafted, he was in a coma after suffering a serious car accident. He signed with the San Diego Chargers, and was placed on the non-football injury reserve list. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season. Read more »

Chargers DB, Traye Simmons Interview

Traye Simmons first played junior college at the College of the Sequoias. He then transferred to play for the University of Minnesota. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, but actually went undrafted. He signed a undrafted free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers. He didn’t end up making the final roster and was cut right after the Chargers’ preseason. Ravens DT, Arthur Jones Interview

Arthur Jones played on the defensive line for Syracuse University. He established himself as one of the best defensive lineman in Syracuse history. AJ entered the 2010 NFL Draft and was selected in the 5th round by the Baltimore Ravens. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season, and actually some of these questions were asked and answered in person on his college campus. Retired Pro Bowl, All-Pro G, Alan Faneca Interview

Alan Faneca played guard for three years at LSU. He left early after totaling over 200 pancakes before his senior season. He entered the 1998 NFL Draft, and was selected 24th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was 1st-team All Pro and a Pro Bowl selection every year from 2001 through 2007. He helped lead them to a Super Bowl victory, and had a key pull block that sprung Willie Parker to a 75-yard touchdown run. He was a Pro Bowler with the New York Jets in 2008 and 2009. He had a brief stint with the Arizona Cardinals. [UPDATE: He retired with nine All-Pro awards, nine Pro Bowl awards, and one Super Bowl title.] Read more »

Dolphins WR, Brian Hartline Interview

Brian Hartline played wide receiver for the Ohio State University for three years. He was very productive throughout his time there. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 4th round by the Miami Dolphins. During his rookie season, he totaled 31 receptions for 506 yards and three touchdowns. 49ers FS, Dashon Goldson Interview

Dashon Goldson played college football for Washington University. He was an all star safety for the Huskies and totaled almost 200 tackles in three years. He entered the 2007 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 4th round by the San Francisco 49ers. After his rookie season, he became a solid starter and has been a very important player in in the 49ers defense both in the run defense and pass defense games. [UPDATE: He made the Pro Bowl for his performance during the 2011 NFL season.] Read more »

Auburn RB, Ben Tate Interview

Ben Tate was born in Woolbridge, Virginia and played high school football at two different high schools in Maryland. He was known around the state for his amazing ability and talent. BT played collegiately in 37 games at Auburn University. He was a running back for Auburn and totaled 678 attempts, 3321 rushing yards, and 24 touchdowns. He declared entry for the 2010 NFL Draft, and his future NFL team has to be determined. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL Draft.
