The Draft by Earnest Byner

Earnest Byner wrote his third blog article for Pro Interviews. EB has 27 years experience in the NFL, both as a player and as a coach. He was drafted in the 9th round, and was a Super Bowl Champion with the Washington Redskins. He then started his coaching career with the Baltimore Ravens, then went onto the Washington Redskins, then the Tennessee Titans, and then the Jacksonville Jaguars. Redskins S, Sha’Reff Rashad Interview (video)

Sha’Reff Rashad played college football at the University of Central Florida. He totaled 259 tackles, 27 pass deflections, 10.5 tackles, and 14 interceptions throughout his collegiate career. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the Giants and played on their practice squad. In 2010, he played for the Redskins. This is a VIDEO interview! This was conducted in March of 2011.

Leadership by Earnest Byner

Earnest Byner wrote his first blog article for Pro Interviews. EB played collegiately for the East Carolina Pirates. He played professionally for thirteen years. He played for the Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, and the Baltimore Ravens. He has been a professional coach for fourteen years. He started off as a coach for the Baltimore Ravens, then the Washington Redskins, then the Tennessee Titans, then the Jacksonville Jaguars. He wrote this before the 2011 NFL season.

Jaguars OT, Kevin Haslam Interview

Kevin Haslam played college football at Rutgers University. He started 32 games throughout his collegiate career, and played in 43 games. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the Jaguars and played in five games during his rookie season. Check out our interview that was conducted before the 2011 NFL season. Texans RB, Chris Ogbonnaya Interview

Chris Ogbonnaya played college football at Texas. He was an Academic All-American during his senior year (2008). He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 7th round by the St. Louis Rams. He then signed with the Texans’ practice squad in 2010. Check out the interview that was conducted before the 2011 NFL season. [Update: He was promoted and signed to the Cleveland Browns active roster in 2011. He earned his first start this past year too.] Read more »

Retired NFL RB, Super Bowl XXVI Champion, current Jaguars RB Coach, Earnest Byner Interview

Earnest Byner played college football at East Carolina University. He then entered the 1984 NFL Draft and was drafted in the tenth round. He played for the Browns for 7 years (84-88, 94-95), the Redskins for 5 years (89-93), and the Ravens for two years (96-97). He then worked in Player Personnel with the Ravens. Following that, he became the RB coach of the Redskins, then Titans, and Jaguars. He won Super Bowl XXVI with the Redskins. This interview was conducted before the 2011 NFL season when he was the Jacksonville Jaguars running back coach.

Retired NFL DT, Jason Ferguson Interview

Jason Ferguson played college football at the University of Georgia. He entered the 1997 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 7th round. He played for the Jets for seven  years, the Cowboys for three years, and the Dolphins for two years. He was a great defensive lineman for all of the teams he played on. At the end of his career, he served as a mentor to Paul Soliai. This interview was conducted after the 2010 NFL season. He is currently no longer in the NFL. Read more »

Former Jaguars S, Donovin Darius Interview

Donovin Darius played college football at Syracuse University.  He earned the title, Big East Defensive Player of the Year as his senior year. He entered the 1998 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 1st round. He played for the Jaguars for eight  years from 1998 to 2006. He finished his career with 620 tackles, 2 sacks, 8 forced fumbles, and 14 interceptions. Check out our interview that was conducted after the 2010 NFL season was over. Read more »

UFL Florida Tuskers C, Enoka Lucas Interview

Enoka Lucas played college football at the University of Oregon. He earned All Pac-10 honors during his junior and senior years. He was recognized as one of the best Pac-10 centers. He entered the 2007 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He played for the Texans, Titans, and Cardinals. He was on the sideline during their Super Bowl appearance. He then played for the Florida Tuskers of the UFL for a couple of years, and became the starting center. He is now out of football. This interview was conducted shortly before the 2011 NFL season was over. Read more »

Former Patriots WR, Cedric Jones Interview

Cedric Jones played college football at Duke University. He entered the 1982 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 3rd round by the New England Patriots. He was a huge role player and possession wide receiver for the Patriots. He played in Super Bowl XX, but lost. Throughout his NFL career, he had 191 receptions, 2703 yards, and 16 touchdowns. Jaguars DE, Austen Lane Interview

Austen Lane played college football at Murray State. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is on the Jacksonville Jaguars roster. He got his first sack against the Saints in 2011, but was placed on IR later in the season. He is one of the funniest players on twitter, and he hopes to produce next season. Seahawks All-Pro KR, Leon Washington Interview

Leon Washington played college football for Florida State University. He then entered the 2006 NFL Draft, and was selected in the fourth round, 116th overall by the New York Jets. He played for the Jets for four years primarily as a kick returner, punt returner, and a scatback to share the load with the other running backs on the team. During the 2010 NFL Draft, LW was traded to the Seattle Seahawks. He continued his All-Pro play performance and was their primary kick returner. This interview was conducted as the 2010 NFL season was coming to an end. Read more »

Retired Jaguars TE, George Wrighster Interview

George Wrighster played college football for the University of Oregon. He then entered the 2003 NFL Draft, and was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 4th round, 103rd overall. He was a member of the Jaguars from 2003 through 2008. He was known for occasionally getting open, but also for his above-average blocking skills. This interview was conducted in the 2010 NFL season and this was when he was a member of the UFL, Las Vegas Locomotives. Read more »

Redskins WR, Anthony Armstrong Interview

Anthony Armstrong played college football for West Texas A&M from 2002-2005. He never got a shot to play in the NFL, so he played in the Intense Football League, and the Arena Football League hoping to one day earn a spot in the NFL. In 2008, the Miami Dolphins came calling, and he earned a spot on their practice squad roster. In 2009, he was on it, before getting cut. Then, the Redskins signed him to their active roster. In 2010, he compiled 871 yards, 3 touchdowns, on 44 receptions. This interview was done in the middle of the 2010 NFL season.
