Cardinals Rookie DB, Ronnie Yell Interview
Ronnie Yell, Arizona Cardinals defensive back, is fighting for a roster spot this year. He joins a crowded secondary, and a young NFL team looking for breakout players. Ronnie Yell played collegiately at San José State and earned playing time starting games as a true freshman. He totaled over 100 tackles and over 20 pass deflections in his career. He entered the 2013 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He was quickly signed by the Arizona Cardinals and has since attended their rookie camp and is a now on their roster during 2013 Training Camp. Bills Rookie DB, Don Unamba Interview
In the 2013 NFL Draft, DII All-American defensive back, Don Unamba went undrafted. Don Unamba attended Southern Arkansas University 2008 through 2012, and played during four of his five years there. At the end of the 2012 season, he was recognized as a DII All-American defensive back. He had great pre-draft measurables, but teams were skeptical of the transition from Southern Arkansas to the NFL. Patriots Rookie DB, Duron Harmon Interview
In the 2013 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots used one of their third round picks on former Rutgers defensive back, Duron Harmon. This was a surprise to many analysts and media members. He played four years during his time at Rutgers and was a great and versatile safety for the Scarlet Knights. In our interview, Harmon talks about his pre-draft experiences, such as his Pro Day to his teammates on the Patriots to how his time has been so far with the Patriots organization. Newly Drafted Dolphins Cornerback, Jamar Taylor Interview
In the 2013 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins used their 2nd round pick to select former Boise State Broncos, CB Jamar Taylor. He joined me for an exclusive one-on-one interview. Jamar Taylor talks about growing up in the rough area of San Diego, his time at Boise State, his off seasons, and what it was like to be drafted by the Dolphins. Taylor was a team captain throughout the entirety of his senior year, and earned First-Team All Mountain West Conference Honors after his senior season performance. The University of Miami Pro Day, Interviews Included
Back in the day, the University of Miami students would not take part in the NFL Combine. They would tell scouts to come watch them run drills in their backyard, at their school’s Pro Day. The U had a swagger about them. Today, with Head Coach Al Golden, the University of Miami is continuing to develop and mature football players down in Coral Gables. I attended my first ever Pro Day, and I was excited for the opportunity to talk to future stars in this league.
Jaguars S, Antwon Blake Interview
Antwon Blake played college football for the University of Texas-El Paso. He was known for playing the gunner role special teams. He also was one of the top defensive backs to come out of UTEP in years. During his collegiate career, he totaled about 137 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, and also had one interception. He entered the 2012 NFL Draft, but went undrafted, and then, he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. This interview was conducted before the 2012 NFL offseason. Read more
Packers Long Snapper, Brett Goode Interview
Brett Goode was a long snapper for the Arkansas Razorbacks and after college, he entered the 2007 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He went through a series of cuts with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2007 and 2008, and talks about them. He signed with the Packers in 2008, and has remained with the Green Bay Packers since. He was a member of the winning Super Bowl XLV team. He talks about his specialty position, and so much more. This interview was conducted during the 2011-2012 NFL offseason!
Redskins G, James Lee Interview
James Lee first went to the University of Georgia to play college football, but later transferred to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference to play at South Carolina State. While he was at South Carolina State, he started 31 of 33 games. He entered the 2008 NFL Draft, but went undrafted and then signed with the Cleveland Browns. He was waived before the regular season, but was claimed and signed with the Buccaneers. He was a member of the Buccaneers from 2008-2011, playing eighteen games, with nine starts. He recently signed a contract with the Washington Redskins. This interview was done right after he signed with the Redskins.
CalU of Pennsylvania, NFL Draft Prospect, Seahawks OT, Rishaw Johnson Interview
Rishaw Johnson was a teammate of NY Giants DB, Chad Jones in high school after being forced to move because of Hurricane Katrina. He then went on to play at Ole Miss University. Due to what he calls ‘some big-time mistakes’, he was kicked off the football team in 2010. He then transferred to a DII powerhouse, CalU Pennsylvania. He started all twelve games this past season at Offensive Guard for CalU. He earned DII All-American also. He was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. He entered the 2012 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed a UDFA contract with the Seattle Seahawks. This interview was conducted before the 2012 NFL Draft.
Connecticut NFL Draft Prospect OT, Mike Ryan Interview
Mike Ryan went to University of Connecticut. While at UConn, he started 32 games, playing in 34. He was best known for his versatility and agility on the offensive line. In 2010, he was nominated to receive First-Team All Big-East honors, and in 2011, he received second-team All Big-East honors. He is known for his versatility on the offensive line, and can play both guard positions as well as both tackles. MR talks about everything he can in this exclusive interview. This interview was conducted before the 2012 NFL Draft. [UPDATE: He signed with the Cincinnati Bengals after the NFL Draft.]
Dolphins DB, Nolan Carroll Interview
Nolan Carroll played college football at the University of Maryland. He played in 38 games, with six starts during his career. He totaled 61 tackles, and 9 pass breakups and he started only two games during his senior season because of a severe injury that he suffered. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round, 145th overall by the Miami Dolphins. In his two years with the Dolphins, he has totaled 35 tackles, six pass deflections, and two interceptions. He has been a stud as a gunner on Special Teams. This interview was done after the 2011 NFL season.
Bengals WR, Jerome Simpson Interview
Jerome Simpson played college football at Coastal Carolina with QB, Tyler Thigpen and RB, Mike Tolbert. entered the 2008 NFL Draft, and was drafted 46th overall. He never produced many stats early in his career. Finally in 2010, he showed major productivity in the final two games. Since Dalton’s arrival, his production has grown and he is most well known for his front-flip TD in a game against the Arizona Cardinals. Dolphins DB, Nate Ness Interview
Nate Ness first played Junior College football at El Camino College where he recorded 19 interceptions and 8 touchdowns. He then, went on to play college football for the University of Arizona during 2007 and 2008. He totaled 97 tackles and 7 interceptions while he was at Arizona. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He has been a member of numerous teams from the Browns to the Seahawks to the Jets and now, he’s on the Miami Dolphins roster. Ali Highsmith played college football for Louisiana State University. He was a Butkus award semifinalist during his junior and senior year. In 2007, he was First-Team All-SEC. He entered the 2008 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals, appearing in six games during his rookie season. In 2009, he signed with the practice squad. He most recently signed a future contract. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season. [UPDATE: He was waived by the AZ Cardinals, and then signed with the San Diego Chargers. Former Browns WR, Lance Leggett Interview
Lance Leggett played college football for the University of Miami. He had about 85 receptions, 1379 yards, and 11 touchdowns. He entered the 2008 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the Cleveland Browns, and played in the preseason a little bit both in 2008 and 2009. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season.
