Retired Ravens TE, Daniel Wilcox Interview (#50)
Daniel Wilcox was undrafted after the 2001 NFL Draft, but signed a contract with the New York Jets. In 2002, he became a Super Bowl Champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He remained on their roster in 2003. However, in 2004, he signed a contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He played tight end for the Ravens until the 2008 NFL season. Ravens DT, Arthur Jones Interview
Arthur Jones played on the defensive line for Syracuse University. He established himself as one of the best defensive lineman in Syracuse history. AJ entered the 2010 NFL Draft and was selected in the 5th round by the Baltimore Ravens. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season, and actually some of these questions were asked and answered in person on his college campus. Jets Defensive Coordinator, Mike Pettine Interview
Mike Pettine played safety at the University of Virginia in the 1980s. He then decided that he wanted to coach football. He coached high school football from 1996 through 2001. He then joined the Ravens Coaching staff with Rex Ryan and they became instant friends as they both worked together on the defensive line. He was a member of the Ravens’ staff from 2002 through 2008. He left to become the Defensive Coordinator of the New York Jets when Rex Ryan (the Ravens’ DC) left to become the Head Coach of the New York Jets. Vikings WR, Freddie Brown Interview
Freddie Brown played wide receiver for the University of Utah. He was very productive during his senior season accumulating 77 receptions, 900 yards, and 7 touchdowns. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was selected 224th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals. He made the Bengals practice squad during his rookie season. Jonathan Dwyer played college football for Georgia Tech. He was an All-American in 2008, and nominated as the ACC Player of the Year in 2008. He rushed for about 3000 yards in three years of college football. He attended the NFL Combine, after deciding to forgo his senior season, and entered the 2010 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 6th round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Walter McFadden played college football for Auburn University. He started off playing Special Teams, but then became the starting cornerback for the Tigers. Joe Burnett played college football for the University of Central Florida. He played cornerback but also took over duties returning punts starting as a freshman and continuing throughout his senior season. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in the preseason with the Steelers and showed promise as a rookie. Browns FS, Abe Elam Interview
Abe Elam grew up in Palm Beach, Florida. AE played collegiately at Kent State University and was used as a punt returner and as a safety. He entered the 2005 NFL Draft, but was undrafted. He then signed with the Miami Dolphins, but was cut. He then signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Afterwards, he became a member of the New York Jets, and then was traded to the Cleveland Browns during the 2009 NFL Draft in the “Mark Sanchez Trade”. Cowboys WR, Jesse Holley Interview
Jesse Holley grew up in New Jersey playing both basketball and football in high school. He went to the University of North Carolina to pursue both of these interests. Holley played during all four years at UNC-Chapel Hill. JH entered the 2007 NFL Draft, but was signed as a UDFA with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was cut, but later picked up by the Dallas Cowboys. He was cut again, but earned another chance after winning Michael Irvin’s Fourth and Long show. This interview was conducted before the 2010 season.
Ravens CB, Fabian Washington Interview
Fabian Washington attended the University of Nebraska to play college football. He earned playing time for the beginning of his freshman year. He started 35 games and finished with 11 interceptions and 38 pass deflections throughout his career. He entered the 2005 NFL Draft and was selected in the first round by the Oakland Raiders. He played with the Raiders for three years before being traded to the Baltimore Ravens. He played with the ravens another three years. This interview was conducted before the 2010 season.
Vikings RB, Albert Young Interview
Albert Young was an all-state all star for his high school football team in New Jersey. He then played college football for the University of Iowa. He totaled 660 attempts, 3173 yards, and 23 touchdowns during his time as a Hawkeye. After being undrafted in the 2008 NFL Draft, he was signed by the Vikings onto their practice squad. He is still on the Vikings roster, and has been active in preseason and regular season games. This interview was conducted before the 2010 regular season.
Jaguars FS, Don Carey Interview (First Ever)
Don Carey III attended Norfolk State University and started in games all four years at safety and cornerback playing in 44 games. He was known for having soft hands, intercepting five passes his senior year. He was drafted in the sixth round, 177th overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2009 NFL Draft. He was on the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010 and was their starting safety. He was cut in 2011, but signed with the Detroit Lions. This interview was performed before the 2010 regular season.
