Free Agent WR, Legedu Naanee Interview

Legedu Naanee played college football at Boise State University, and he had seventy-two receptions and twelve touchdowns throughout his entire collegiate career. He entered the 2007 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round, 172nd overall by the San Diego Chargers. He earned loads of playing time, and finished his time in San Diego with 746 yards and three TDs. In 2011, he signed with the Carolina Panthers and had his best season of his young career with forty-four receptions and 467 yards. He has started twenty games in his NFL career, but has played in 69 games. This interview was conducted as he was a free agent. [UPDATE: He is currently fighting for a roster spot on the Miami Dolphins.]

Redskins DB, Reed Doughty Interview

Reed Doughty played college football at University of Northern Colorado where he was a teammate of Chargers WR, Vincent Jackson. He entered the 2006 NFL Draft and was drafted in the 6th round by the Washington Redskins. He is known as a great tackler and has almost 300 tackles in his NFL career. He was a teammate of Sean Taylor and shares his memories with him. Check out our interview that was conducted before the 2011 NFL season.

Retired Pro Bowl NFL fullback, Lorenzo Neal Interview

Lorenzo Neal played college football at Fresno State University. He entered the 1993 NFL Draft and was selected in the 4th round as a running back by the New Orleans Saints. He got injured in his career, so he made the switch to fullback. He was the lead blocker for great running backs like Corey Dillon, Eddie George, and LaDainian Tomlinson. He made the Pro Bowl four times in his career, and was the lead blocker for 11 straight 1,000 yard running backs. Check out our interview.

Seahawks All-Pro KR, Leon Washington Interview

Leon Washington played college football for Florida State University. He then entered the 2006 NFL Draft, and was selected in the fourth round, 116th overall by the New York Jets. He played for the Jets for four years primarily as a kick returner, punt returner, and a scatback to share the load with the other running backs on the team. During the 2010 NFL Draft, LW was traded to the Seattle Seahawks. He continued his All-Pro play performance and was their primary kick returner. Pro Bowl, Eagles QB, Mike Vick Interview

Michael Vick played quarterback for Virginia Tech in 1999 and 2000. He entered the 2001 NFL Draft and was selected as the first overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons. He played for them from 2001-2006, and set numerous records, and was arguably one of the greatest dual-threat quarterbacks of all time. After being arrested, MV served 23 months in prison, but is working hard to repair his image. He signed a contract with the Eagles and earned a tiny amount of playing time during his first year back. [UPDATE: He has worked his way back to the starting quarterback position with the Eagles, and is now their starting quarterback.] Read more »

Retired NFL DE/OLB, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila Interview

Akbar Gbaja-Biamila played defensive end for the San Diego State Aztecs from 1998 through 2002. He entered the 2003 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the Oakland Raiders and played with them in 2003 and 2004. He then signed with the San Diego Chargers in 2005, the Miami Dolphins in 2006, and then back with the Oakland Raiders in 2007. Great LSU WR, Demetrius Byrd Interview

Demetrius Byrd played wide receiver for Louisiana State University. He first started playing at Pearl River Junior College and was a complete stud. He then played for LSU in 2008 and 2009 totaling over 1000 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns, and had 72 receptions. He entered the 2009 NFL Draft, but was selected in the 7th round by the San Diego Chargers. When he was drafted, he was in a coma after suffering a serious car accident. He signed with the San Diego Chargers, and was placed on the non-football injury reserve list. This interview was conducted before the 2010 NFL season. Read more »

Chargers DB, Traye Simmons Interview

Traye Simmons first played junior college at the College of the Sequoias. He then transferred to play for the University of Minnesota. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, but actually went undrafted. He signed a undrafted free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers. He didn’t end up making the final roster and was cut right after the Chargers’ preseason. Ernest Smith played wide receiver for Baylor University. After earning playing time throughout his four years at Baylor, ES entered the 2010 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. He signed with the San Diego Chargers after the NFL Draft. [UPDATE: He was waived by the San Diego Chargers during the 2010 NFL preseason and has been out of the NFL since.] Read more »
