Jordan Bernstine played college football at the University of Iowa. He totaled 108 tackles, 1 interception, 3 TFLs in his entire career at Iowa. He had 30 KR for 713 yards and also compiled 83 tackles during his star-studded senior season. He is entering the 2012 NFL Draft, projected as a late-round selection or to go through undrafted. 25 : NFL Pro Interview : Cliff Avril

Cliff Avril attended Purdue and played in games all four years. During his senior season at Purdue, he had 40 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 3 pass deflections, and 1 interception returned for 43 yards and a TD. He entered the 2008 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 3rd round, 92nd overall by the Detroit Lions. Since he’s been in the NFL, he’s tallied 30 sacks, 12 pass deflections, and 14 forced fumbles. He recently received the team’s franchise tag.

121 : NFL Pro Interview : Cody Glenn

Cody Glenn played college football at the University of Nebraska. He played running back throughout his first three years there, and then switched to linebacker for his senior season. He then entered the 2009 NFL Draft, and was selected in the 5th round by the Washington Redskins. He was cut in the preseason, but the Colts signed him and he remained with the Colts from 2009 to 2011. He played in Super Bowl XLIV mainly on Special Teams, and very recently he signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

120 : NFL Pro Interview : Amari Spievey

Amari Spievey played college football at the University of Iowa in the Big Ten. He had problems at school that he had take care of and went to Iowa Central Community College. He transferred back to Iowa, and finished up playing his sophomore and junior year there. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft and was drafted in the 3rd round, 66th overall by the Detroit Lions. He became a contributor on special teams early in his career, and then last year, he was their starting safety for the entire season.

Adam Carriker attended the University of Nebraska and was nominated for numerous awards during his junior and senior seasons like First-Team All-Big 12 and Big 12 DL of the Year. He indirectly served as someone Ndamukong Suh looked up to. He entered the 2007 NFL Draft, and was selected 13th overall by the St. Louis Rams. He then was traded to the Washington Redskins. This most recent season, he totaled 34 tackles, and 5.5 sacks. He is currently an upcoming free agent in 2012.

Pat Angerer played college football at the University of Iowa. He entered the 2010 NFL Draft, and was drafted in the 2nd round, 63rd overall by the Indianapolis Colts. In his two years in the NFL, he has started 27 games, and played in all 32. He totaled eighty-eight tackles last year, one sack, one forced fumble, and two pass breakups last year. Angerer started every game in 2011 for the Colts and finished 4th in the league with 148 tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception, 3 pass breakups, and 2 forced fumbles.

Uche Nwaneri played college football at Purdue. He then entered the 2007 NFL Draft and was drafted in the 5th round. He has remained with the Jaguars since 2007. He has started 61 games in his career, and taken part in 73 total games. Nwaneri is considered the best offensive guards in recent Jaguars’ history.

LaMar Campbell played college football at Wisconsin. He was undrafted after the 1998 NFL Draft. He played with the Lions for five years and while he was there he totaled 120 tackles, 4 forced fumbles. His lone interception in his career was thrown to him by Brett Favre and he returned it for a touchdown!

Chris Maragos went to Western Michigan and then transferred to play at his dream school, Wisconsin. He went undrafted after the 2010 NFL Draft. He signed with the 49ers and made the team’s practice squad. He then signed with the Seattle Seahawks. He is currently on their active roster.

He has been a safety on the Jets since, playing special teams and defense.

He played for the Texans, Buccaneers, Falcons, Titans, Saints, Redskins, and Bears early in his carer. He then played in the AFL, and was the Defensive Player of the Year. After that, from 2007 to 2010 he played for the Buccaneers and totaled 137 tackles and 24 sacks.

He started his own clothing line called, ‘Alial Fital’ and he talks about it in the interview.

Strauss : Why do you make it important to connect to the fans?

Heygood : I connect to bring a fundamental aspect of the game to those that watch.

Strauss : If you could meet anyone, who would it be and why?

Heygood : Barrack Obama because he is a very charismatic leader.

Strauss : Who was your childhood star? Why?

Heygood : Terrell Davis, he was a running back and I always aspired to be like him one day.

Strauss :What was your favorite NFL team growing up?

Heygood : Philadelphia Eagles.

Strauss : When did you see your first live NFL game?

Heygood : Freshman Year at Purdue.

Strauss : If you weren’t playing in the NFL, what would you want to do?

Heygood : Strength and Conditioning Coach, or Personal Trainer, or Health and Fitness Instructor.

Strauss : What is your favorite song to listen to before a game?

Heygood : I like Lil’ Boosie.

Strauss : What is your favorite movie of all time?

Heygood : Superbad and The Bronx Tale.

Strauss : What is your favorite snack food?

Heygood : Cookies.

Strauss : What is your favorite type of pie?

Heygood : Sweet-Potato Pie.

Strauss : What is your favorite TV-Show?

Heygood : 30 Rock.

Strauss : What is your favorite meal?

Heygood : Lasagna.

Strauss : What is your favorite video game?

Heygood : NBA 2K9, NBA 2K10, and NBA 2K11.

Strauss : Who is your favorite superhero?

Heygood : The Juggernaut

Strauss : What is the one thing you can’t leave your house without?

Heygood : My wallet.

Strauss : So, how long have you played football?

Heygood : I’ve played for twenty years, since I was four years old.

Strauss : Did you play any other sports in high school?

Heygood : Baseball, basketball, and ran track.

Strauss : What is something you were known for in a sport other than football?

Heygood : All-American Hurdler in High School, Cardinal O’Hara HS in Springfield, PA

Strauss :When did you realize that you were going to play football in college and in the NFL?

Heygood : When I was seventeen (Junior year in high school), and when I was twenty-two (Senior year at Purdue).

Strauss : Describe the hardest change between high school and college.

Heygood : Independence and everybody is bigger and stronger.

Strauss : What is your favorite memory from Purdue?

Heygood : Last home game of the 2008 season, it was the last of my college career.

Strauss : How did the number process work out at Purdue?

Heygood : They gave 42 to me that that was the number I kept in my four years there.

Strauss : What did you learn from playing football at Purdue?

Heygood : Purdue and Indiana are rivals and we compete for the Old Oaken Bucket.

Strauss : How had your game improved from your freshman to your senior year?

Heygood : Changed positions from offense to defense, got smarter, learning the playbooks – and just know what you got to do.

Strauss : Who was the hardest player to compete against in college? why?

Heygood : Shonne Green because he would get busy!

Strauss : What was your draft day experience like?

Heygood : I knew I wasn’t going to get drafted and would sign as a free agent with a team after the draft.  There was a handful of teams interested in me so I was confident that I would end up somewhere with a shot at making the team.  I played basketball that day

Strauss : What number are you in the NFL? Why?

Heygood : I am #53, because that’s the number they gave me in Seattle.

Strauss : What was going through your mind when you signed with the Seahawks?

Heygood : Happy to have a job and to play football again. It’s also a second chance.

Strauss : Who are your best buddies on the Seahawks?

Heygood : Roy Lewis and Ricky Foley.

Strauss : What have you learned from your teammates?

Heygood : I’ve improved my techniques. I’ve also learned to be patient and always bust your ass in practice and just always practice hard.

Strauss : Could you have predicted how far football was going to carry you? Why?

Heygood : No, because it’s a business.

Strauss : What do you look for when you watch film? How important has film been to your development?

Heygood : I look for audibles, movement on the line, players in the backfield, weaknesses and the tendencies on the other teams. Film has helped me become a smart and more efficient football player which makes me a better football player.

Strauss : What’s been the hardest thing for you to do since you started playing football?

Heygood : Learning three different playbooks in two years.

Strauss : What is your favorite charity? Why do you donate?

Heygood : The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. I donate to give back to the community and people should donate to be a part of a solution and support a cause.

Strauss : What is an experience that changed your life?

Heygood : Having my son, Jayden.

Strauss : If you had to describe yourself as any ice cream flavor, what would you choose?

Heygood : Chocolate-chip cookie dough.

Strauss : What is your favorite quote?

Heygood : “Play like a champion today.”

Strauss : For someone aspiring to play football in the NFL, do you have any advice for them?

Heygood : Always work hard, do your homework and go to class.
